It looked as if today was going to pass without an adoption. This is not unusual for a Monday, especially today…. La Rentrée, when many people are busy with a new academic year or a new phase in their life. However this Rentrée has brought a new life for a dog…nine year old Jack has found a new home!
This little lad was a recent DRC urgent appeal, as we could just not understand why he was continually overlooked. Jack arrived in early February this year, found at the refuge gates already identified but with the owner’s details no longer in date. And if our suspicions are correct and it was the owner who put him there, he did not want to be contacted. Since then Jack has been a favourite with staff and volunteers, as he is a very easy lad; good on the lead and calm. Not too surprising he was born in July 2008, so although there is plenty of life ahead of him, he is a mature dog.
The ideal companion, we hope, for his new owner, who was looking for exactly this, a calmer older dog. And as Jack is over 9 years old, and as with all our “senior” dogs, his adoption fee was just €80. Please give an oldie a chance, we have some wonderful eldery dogs who have so much love to give.
Let’s hope that this adoption is the first of many to take place this week.
