As expected, after his successful operation Gibbon went off to his new home today where he will be able to recover in a calm, family environment rather than at the SPA. Lucky dog, indeed.
Another lucky dog is Princesse, although I am pretty sure that when she arrived ten days ago no one expected things to work out quite like this.
If you remember, when this tiny york cross arrived we were all pretty sure she would be reclaimed. She was only a year old, beautifully socialised (as well as being beautiful) as well as being identified and wearing a harness. We posted photos all over Facebook etc, but as the phone number was not valid, we could not contact her owner. A couple of volunteers even went to the address on the Icad, but no sign of Princesse’s owner.
Several people expressed interest in her, but perhaps it was fate that she wasn’t reserved during the pound delay. Sometimes timing is everything. Today a great friend of the SPA came along to offer Princesse a home that most dogs can only dream of. Many thanks to Jessica of donkey sanctuary fame. Yes, this is the same Jessica who is still searching for missing dog Lily Rose. But when you have a heart this big, there is always room for a little one!
There were a couple of arrivals, but who needs bad news tonight? Certainly not me!
Princesse – ADOPTED (and already at home on Jessica’s sofa)
