Yet again our urgent appeal is for Pato. This dog has been at the SPA for almost three years and is the oldest dog at the refuge, having been born in May 2004. For a dog of his size, this is quite old, and we really do not want Pato to spend his last days at the SPA, especially as winter is upon us.
So what we are looking for is someone to offer a warm home to Pato. He is in good health for now, but clearly at his age it is just a matter of time till he needs vet care, and any bills will be paid by the SPA. If whoever offers him a home is not close to our vet, then we will try to arrange association prices with your vet, which we will pay.
Pato is quite slow on his feet but would love a 20 minute walk once or twice a day. Access to a small garden would be great. To complicate matters, Pato is not good with dogs or cats, or cars, which he will lunge towards if they pass him on a walk. This is totally manageable, though, and just requires a light hand on his collar to restrain him.
Pato does not ask for much. His three years at the SPA have taught him to be pretty independent. He will be no trouble, he would just like a space inside and out of the wind. Is anyone currently animal free and willing to offer Pato a home for the time that remains?
