Many of you will have read about Cliona and in fact many of you probably donated to her veterinary care. Cliona was spotted straying in a nearby village and was in such a state that many people were scared and threw rocks at her. Luckily some compassionate people gradually gained her confidence and managed to catch her and bring her to the SPA. Initially we were not sure that she could be saved, but two operations later and she is looking far better. The tumours have been removed and the skin has returned to its proper form. Cliona is now a stunning dog.
She looks like a small black labrador, but in fact Cliona is chocolate brown. She is about ten years old, we think, although the longer she stays with us, the younger she looks!
Cliona is living in the cat house and is fine with dogs too. She is wonderful on a lead and is affectionate with humans, especially ones she knows.
If the idea of rescuing a dog who was effectively left for dead appeals to you, then please get in touch with Cliona. She represents much of what the SPA Carcassonne stands for; stepping in to help out lost causes. She could spend the rest of her life as the refuge mascot, but we think she deserves better than that!
