Griffon cross Roxy has been at the SPA since April 2016, which is a real surprise when you consider what a fabulous dog he is. And not just fabulous looking, either.
Roxy was abandoned by his elderly owners as they found him too strong on the lead. He had been given to them by a well-meaning family member, hoping that having a dog would brighten their lives. Nice idea, except it is important to make sure that the recipients actually want a dog, and that the dog is suitable in terms of age and size. Roxy is the victim here.
He arrived at the age of three years old, making him four and a half years old now; the prime of life. And the SPA is not the right place to spend the best years of your life. Since being with us, Roxy has learned to walk well on the lead, initially with the help of a no-pull harness, but now without. And he shares his kennel well with other males.
Roxy does not like cats, but he is fine with children and already has good basic training. He is active and playful, not at all nervous of people and would make a great family pet.
Please help us find a home for Roxy.
