It is very rare that we feature a dog who has only just arrived, but this girl has just stolen our hearts. Suma is a griffon khortal who is so scared that she can hardly walk. Of course at the SPA dogs have to go to the vets and so for now Suma is being carried. She lies completely still, like a dead weight. No attempt to wriggle or get away. This is obviously not normal, and we can only hazard a guess at where Suma has been and what she has suffered before she arrived at the refuge.
Suma was born in February 2013, according to the vet’s best guess. She has probably had several litters, so has maybe been used as a puppy producer for hunters. We will never know. If this is the case, however, it is more than possible that Suma will need to be house trained.
Suma needs a loving and patient family, another dog may help with her socialisation, but only a gentle and understanding dog, please, we want Suma to never feel overwhelmed. The fact that despite her level of fear, it does not even occur to Suma to show her teeth or snap. She is such a gorgeous, gentle girl.
Please get in touch if you would like to offer a home to Suma. Her adoption fee is €170, for which she will be vaccinated, microchipped and sterilised.
