This beautiful boy is Shasta, a 5-year-old American Bulldog mix who is urgently looking for a loving new home. He’s a loyal, affectionate companion with a big heart and even bigger personality.

Shasta has grown up enjoying the good life in rural southern France. Sadly, due to a series of unfortunate circumstances, his family is not able to continue to provide him with the lifestyle he needs going forward, and urgently looking for a new home for him by end of June. 

He’s a strong lad at 38 kg, and full of exuberance. Shasta adores being outside — long walks, forest runs, playing fetch, or just sunbathing in the garden. Indoors, he transforms into a quiet, snuggly lapdog (or at least thinks he is!), and will happily curl up beside you on the sofa if you let him.

Smart and eager to please, Shasta knows commands in both English and French and is very treat-motivated. He communicates with a range of expressive faces and noises — you’ll always know how he’s feeling!

Shasta is fully house-trained and can be left at home for hours at a time if need be. His is leash-trained, but his manners could use some brushing up. 

He’s used to living with other dogs and would ideally love a canine companion of similar size and age. Due to his size and enthusiasm, he’s best suited to a home without cats and without young children, although he would love to live with older children or teenagers.

He’s in excellent health, neutered, fully vaccinated, and currently near Rébénacq in the southwest. His family is committed to traveling anywhere in Europe and the UK to find him the right home. 

Shasta will thrive in a home with space to roam and people who love the outdoors. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous friend with a huge heart, Shasta might just be your perfect match.
