Dog Rescue Carcassonne is back!

Some of you may have noticed that for the past few months our website was appearing for a day or so, then vanishing into thin air. Each time this happened, our web-elf would turn back time (oh that we could!), and relaunch the site from the last time it was working. Then would come another update from the powers that be, and the site would go down again.

Very frustrating indeed.

A bit of a deep dive (again, thanks to our pet web-elf) revealed that our site had been “half-hacked”. That is to say that whoever was trying to break in had got so far and no further, but it was enough to really mess things up. Some crucial files had been disabled and apparently a link to google chatroom had been inserted. This is the first step to a ransom demand. That demand never came to pass, but the end result is the same; we have had to start over.

So here we are.

Things are very different this time. Moira and I have decided that, as we are primarily a blog nowadays, we will structure our website as such. We will be writing primarily to support and raise funds for the ScPA Carcassonne, and we will try and help with an occasional home-to-home, as well as pass on news and legislation that might be of interest.

The format will be much simplified, and without all the bells and whistles (both technical terms, I am told), we will be of less temptation to sad people who sit alone in basements and get their kicks by disrupting people trying to help rehome dogs. What a strange world we live in, eh?

Our email remains the same, the website name is the same, and the team; Moira and Darcey, remains the same.

And very sadly the problems of dog rehoming, abandons and cruelty also remain the same. So please forgive our recent absence, follow us again, share the blog and help us to help the dogs of the ScPA Carcassonne.
